Pelothero

Looping microfilm about a dung beetle and its endless journey. This piece was inspired by both the dung beetle and the myth of Sisyphus. But unlike the myth, pushing the ball is not punishment; it is the beetle’s passion. The looping format with repeating playback creates the sensation of an infinite cycle: the beetle pushes its ball of dung until it is broken apart, only to start again with the same devotion. The soundtrack, composed by my longtime friend Raul Medina.
